Engineering is still king when it comes to PvE utility. As a rogue, you have several useful gadgets to aid in PvE scenarios, including:
Sappers and Bombs: These explosives are still useful in Wrath Classic for quick AOE damage to backpacks in raid scenarios.
Nitro Boosts Enchant: You can apply this enchantment to your boots, giving you an additional 24 crit rating. It also comes with a 5-second overdrive boost that you can activate if you need to get out of danger quickly with a 3-minute cooldown.
Speed Accelerator Enchantment: You can apply this enchantment to your gloves, granting you an additional 340 Haste rating for 12 seconds. This effect has a 1 minute cooldown.
For classes that can help you in PvE, blacksmithing or jewelry making are viable second options.
Blacksmithing allows you to add an additional gem slot to Bracers and Gloves. You can use it to get some extra stats with 2 extra gems you'll be able to use.
Jewelry Crafting allows you to create your own gems, only available to players who have expertise in Jewelry Crafting. The gems you can use as a rogue are:
Broken Dragon's Eye: +34 Armor Penetration
Rigid Longan: +34 hit rate
Bright Dragon's Eye: +68 Attack
Other classes may be useful for wotlk classic gold crafting, but provide less in terms of extra stats and PvE usefulness. Some classes do offer stat boosts, but miss out on the flexibility of blacksmithing and jewelry crafting to choose which specific stat you want to focus on.
